    Deadlines looming.

Now that December is upon, people start going crazy for the festivities.

Personally, I don’t like joining in until about 2 weeks before Christmas as otherwise, it get’s old before it gets here (so shops decorating for Christmas mid-october really winds me up..)

It’s now only the 3rd of December, but what with all of the snow, I’m finding it difficult to stop myself looking forward to the festive cheer (although, I’m not sure why. It’ll be extra stressful this year).

One thing that keeps bringing me down to Earth is the prospect of several approaching deadlines.

That thing that was taking over my life (Advanced Studio) is almost completely over! The show was on Tuesday, so now all that remains is for me to finish the report. Aside from studio, I have to finish my DVD Technology and Digital Broadcasting projects.

DVD Tech. consists of producing a professional standard DVD (proper printed disc, case, booklet, proper features including subtitles, alternative audio tracks, easter egg, special features… the whole shabang!)

This is coming along relatively well; all of the print work is ready to be sent off to the printers.

Digital Broadcasting is rather more technical, although I won’t go into it as it would make my already dry post, almost unbearable. Let’s just say it involves lots of talk of encoding, compression, codecs, hardware etc. This project probably offers the biggest challenge, but for some reason I quite enjoy it.

So, once I’ve finished those 3 modules, I have the whole Christmas break to..

    a) Revise for the insanely technical Broadcasting exam (and the similar, although less technical DVD exam).

    b) Do the mountainous amounts of work to get back on track with my final year project.

    c) Both

So much for a merry Christmas :(
